Whilst I know we have a tributes sub forum, I thought Albini would suit the general discussion as he had a huge influence over the 90s alt rock/grunge/noise sound.

Far too young. I was looking at going to see Shellac this year (and have the vinyl on pre-order!)

Totally gutted! Saw Shellac a few times, he's worked on a bunch of my favourite records, and seemed so generous with sharing his knowledge and opinions. A sad loss.

I first heard Big Black on John Peel many years ago... Some of my favourite albums were recorded by Steve Albini. That was a shock.
