Just popping my head above the parapet to join the Helix club - picked one up at the show after chatting to Paul Hindmarsh.

Compared to the FX8, it is far more intuitive for my simple guitar brain. I've trawled through a lot of comments on here too which have been helpful.

Even with headphones I was impressed - not every sound is to my liking, but enough good sounds to keep me playing. Into to the front end of a Bad Cat Cub III, house friendly levels, I'm really, really impressed, and the ability to quickly build a patch of pedals without resorting to laptop/USB interface is a godsend. And this I coming from a previously diehard anti-modelling, anti-Line 6 valve amp fan. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds. The flexibility is phenomenal. Still getting my head around having an FOH output but still using the physical amp's preamp....brilliant idea. Gold stars to the people at Line 6!

And for 99 quid you will soon be able to build your patches at the PC as a Native Plug In. I wonder how many instances of Helix my i7 can cope with ... :)

You could do Quad easily with the Helix on its own :)
That sounds like a project for @Sporky.

You could probably do some quite upsetting stuff with multiple panners and expression pedals... add a bit of expression-controlled phaser and anyone of a weak constitution may have to leave the room.

Difficult to give others the experience unless they come round the house...
I do have a stereo panner speed controlled by exp2 that I use to give people the boke during my solo for Moonage Daydream :)
