Just finished my newest 12-string tele

I've had a previous DIY conversion based on those of telesavant on TDPRI which worked ok although the tuners were crude open back types.

I went one step further and put on a body from a custom build w Lollars. (http://brianfanner.wix.com/fannerguitars#!guitars/c4l2) Eventually though the truss rod on the squier neck started slipping which meant I would have to tighten the hell out of it every time I picked it up to play. And it would slip back the same amount overnight.

So it sat for a near on two years. After some swapping I had a wide neck sitting spare and was missing playing the twelve so I placed a custom order of M6 tuners (6 in line reverse) with thomann which arrived after a couple weeks. After drilling over the new year weekend I finished the new nut last night and did some setup. With the correct strings (Unison Gs!) it rings and sounds great

Here are some progress pics: (hiding some minor bodges: should have used a spacing template) I had to plug and redrill the original 8mm holes so that the new tuners would be closer to the headstock edge and offset to allow for clearance of the tuning pegs.

You push in the string as hard as you can, twist and turn and somehow it works! Like babymaking
