There are so many guitars that I see or hear about and think "oooo, I fancy one of those". But I don't / daren't actually buy them because;
- I've more guitars than I need already.
- I've more guitars than I want already.
- I'd probably be left trying to sell it on at a huge loss after 6 months because most of the things I fancy are a bit unusual
- MrsTT has the patience and tolerance of a saint, but apparently even a saint's patience isn't infinite.
We need some sort of lending library for guitars.
I know similar things have been suggested before, and that any scheme is fraught with problems.
But car clubs do it (I'm thinking of the clubs for exotic cars where everyone gets to drive a Lamborarri DB12 for a week every year, and a Jagsche XFR for a month, etc) and driving cars is a lot more risky than playing guitars, so is it possible?
Would I pay £50/yr and know that I'd have a Feline for a month, and a Sabre for a month and a (insert guitar-of-choice here) for a month?
Yup, probably.

I have everything you need
Having said that, having a plethora of guitars to play then getting your own back in the end, will def be a gas killer and would make you appreciate your own when it comes back.
Count me in, Im sure EVERYBODY would love to try the strandberg, plus it's not got a headstock that would break via courier
I'm from Edinburgh too, but have nothing worth contributing to such a scheme.

First thought was: 'Who wants a fucking sitar?'

There is no way I'd lend a guitar out to a stranger over the Internet, and I would not want to borrow one either. It's too open to abuse.
