Im just tired, but I've looked at VitD and it sounds likely.
I think it's possible, as the main good sources don't really appear in my diet much, plus I work indoors all day, or in my van, but it turns out glass blocks a type of radiation that helps with the vitamin D thing.
Not sure if it's vitamin D as I am strawberry blonde. I do know that the harder you physically work, the better you feel and the more control you feel you have in your life the less everything aches, that is a fact. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with aching bones and lethargy and brain fog though. For me personally, either it's something fatal or a combination of smoking and eating is causing my guts to swell up, which they do all the time and are really painful, so it's orobably something to do with digestion and actually getting food into the system or something, I've never been able to put on weight. I've had this for over twenty years though, it's always been like that, I know I'm lactose intolerant but maybe there is something more to it.
You can fix a lot by getting some aerobic exercise though. Although suppose that at 42, I am at an age now where anything could happen but I don't eat all that well either and tend to ride empty until I burn out that is just as important as exercise.
I had my thyroid checked a few years ago as part of some blood tests and it came back that I have an underactive thyroid. I have been on Levothyroxine since which has helped.
Thyroid medication is not the full answer though, a good diet and plenty of water makes the most difference in my experience, if I forget to take water in the car with me (I'm in sales) and spend the day drinking coffee I end up knackered.
I've had some sleep problems too which were mostly down to stress and I found that avoiding caffeine in the evenings and stopping eating/drinking a couple of hours before bed improved my sleeping pattern. Red bush tea only after 6pm! I like Tick Tock Rooibos tea.
Tell you what, I've been doing loads of decorating in the evenings lately and I'm sleeping like a log!
I drink loads of Tea during the day.
The only tech in my bedroom is my kindle (& whatever MrsLostSon has in her drawer )
Even the worst jet lag, you allow for a day recovery for each hour of time difference, so this BST change is nowt.
No-one complains of this when they go to Spain for a holiday do they?
SAD - there is a lot of evidence to say its a myth too.
here's one for starters

after endless visits to my GP and out of desperation I went to see a really good allergy specialist who confirmed multiple allergies.
Trees start releasing their pollen from early March to about May. It really knocks me about, lethargic, heavy legged, low mood, poor concentration, sinus headaches and frigging migraines.
I have two young kids who are an absolute handful most of the time and they only add to the exhaustion.
No, it's got caffeine. Which could explain your symptoms by itself, really. I used to drink loads of tea and coffee, and I still drink too much but I'm no longer lethargic.
that;s a lot of tea! Tea is a diuretic, so actually makes you pee more than if it were water.
If I were you, I would have a look at lifestyle first. Eating well? Cut sugary stuff down, eat more fresh fruit and veg, cut down on red meat.
Drink tons of water.
Brown bread, not white. Cut out biscuits and cake. Cut down the booze if you like a tipple cos it knackers up your sleep (sadly).
Don't use a phone or tablet in bed.
Try and get a bit of regular exercise in a few times a week, even if its just a walk.
Take a course of vitamins with iron in them for a couple of months.
See where that takes you for starters.
You are probably just a knackered over worked parent, like a lot of us!
SAD doesn't exist? Do me a favour. I've watched my father battle with it every year like clockwork for the last thirty years.
