Willie Nelson - On the Road again
or Ray Charles - Hit the road Jack
Extreme - Cynical
Extreme - Hip Today
All of these currently have me - guitar, @octatonic - drums, @Legionreturns ;; - vocals (at least on Cupid's Dead), may need bass if @fretmeister can't make it. Could do with another guitar on Cupid's Dead.
I'm playing drums the rest of the day anyway.
If we have another drummer on the day who can play to this level then I am happy to play guitar or bass- whatever is needed.

Sorry I haven't slept in 3 days I can't remember.
Cigarettes and Alcohol - Oasis
Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis
a chance for a bit of lead for us lousy players in those...?
Beat It - Michael Jackson (give someone a chance to be EVH if they want to)
Plug In Baby - Muse (so I can show you how I learnt it years ago and so play it with two fingers like a plum)
Just thoughts, all pretty straightforward tunes.
Edit: seeing there is a bit of a punk theme developing in the middle
Anarchy In The UK - Sex Pistols.
I've made a playlist of the song list above (cheekily adding my own suggestions) I will add to it as songs get added in the thread, might be nice to have a listen.
Need to learn a few of these as well!
By all means go practice whatever you guys want to but please bear in mind that these are all just suggestions for now and as has been pointed out in the other thread more than once, the day is for everyone including the beginners so a lot of these are going to need looking at carefully to make sure we pick a list that works for everyone.
Also not every part of the day will be about trying to perform songs as covers when we're having the less experienced playing, there's going to be need to be room for simple 'Jamming' as it were.
We'll keep the suggestions open for another few days to get a good varied mix together and THEN we'll close it and start picking through what's best.
Ok?
Electric:
Sunshine of your Love (can't manage the solo but will get it down one day)
I'm Tore Down
Acoustic (my preference, YMMV):
Before You Accuse Me
San Francisco Bay Blues
A generic "Blues in E" jam could work for many songs too.
There are plenty more that I couldn't cope with, although it's quite nice to stick on "From the Cradle" and attempt to jam along to each track.
I'm out for a few hours so I'll amend the list when I get home later.
I forgot to add that one but i will do.
If you want I can show you (Somehow.....maybe skype) how to play the solo?
Not that you're expected to on the day, I don't mean that, I mean if you're interested in don't mind helping you to know how to play it?
The same goes for anyone else really.
I'm not a guitar teacher by any stretch but I'm happy to show people how to play something I can play.
As it goes Sunshine of your love isn't such a difficult solo to learn reply so I reckon I could help you play that with relative ease.
Just a friendly offer, you don't have to if you don't want to.
I'll say it as often as I need to, we're here to help people learn, progress and feel confident.
If I see just one person crack that smile you can't stop from the buzz of enjoying playing live then the whole day will have been worth it.
If I see lots of people do that then I'll be more satisfied than I can describe.
The day is as much for that as it is for people who I too am in awe of to inspire us all and for us ALL to enjoy their performances.
We will actively stay away from feelings of intimidation and openly look for inspiration, confidence and encouragement.
That's a very kind offer, thanks. I used to be able to play it somewhat but I've got rusty. I might take you up on that if we can sort out logistics and technology!
Let's get this week out of the way and we can see what we can put together.
I've never used Skype but it can't be that difficult.
I'll ask my Son (The I.T. Dept).
(I know this is the song list, but if we're adding lists of contributors/line-ups as well, I thought I might as well pop my name forward.)
