    *sigh*

    I finally gave in and bought a set of rainbow coloured knobs.

    HOWEVER, and I understand why, because it makes it easy to see, the yellow knob has a black line on the top to indicate its position.

    So off to the workshop in search of a small amount of white paint, fortunately these particular knobs have a fairly deep groove cut and filled with paint, so it shouldn't be too hard to do.
