This guy seems a little confused.

Or or perhaps those looking for Clapton’s Beano have been barking up the wrong tree all along, it was in fact a 335.

  • I've never seen black pickups on a 335 (some 335s may have them, it's just that I haven't seen one). What's that horizontal mark on the lower end of the f-hole on the bass side? Has that guitar been wearing a Bigsby or a trapeze tailpiece? What's the white spot at 7 o'clock to the back pickup's tone pot?

£5k is a bit pricey. You could get a genuine new 335 for that, or less!

Yes, but they are all from his ‘elite vintage guitar collection’ - it’s not just a normal vintage guitar collection.

  • "A famous version was used by Eric Clapton, and dubbed the "Beano" due to its association with the first issue of its namesake magazine."

The first issue of the Beano was in 1938. The first ES-335s were sold in 1958, so you can see why the "Beano" 335 was so special.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

Guys, doesn't the initial "J" and the phrase "elite vintage guitar collection" mean anything?

It's our very own purveyor of astronomically-priced Yamaha SG's...AKA Mr. Joey Morewood.

It's actually Clapton's equally rare guitar from the follow up, unreleased "Baked Beano" album. They overcooked it in the jams so he ended up with cream.

He says this about all his SG2000s "The guitar plays light and fluid, and is set up with nice low action." At least he doesn't say "butter".

They told Hendrix to play his guitar "light and fluid" at Monterey but by that time his hearing was going and there were terrible  consequences.

£5k but he can’t be bothered to clean the gunk off the fretboard to take a few photos.  This ain’t a high quality person we’re dealing with here.

    Totally, utterly brilliant =)

I'd rather like a guitar with that finish ...

You’re joking now but you’ve probably just given Gibson Custom Shop a brilliant idea for 2019’s line-up.

  • Am I missing stuff again? Does he say what year it is? Is he claiming they're actual PAFs in there?  What's going on with that colour? The headstock looks newish but the finish on the body suggests different.  I'm a bit confused.  Worth it if those PAFs are real though...

There appears to have been about a five tons of super glue used for the refret <shocked face emoji>

I'm not convinced that the dark patches are deposited gunge. They could be evidence of a particularly brutal refret.
