    Me too mate - thank you.  I suspect the oversprayed serial number will put off your Jim Ramsays and co, but the upswing is someone will get an utterly fantastic Gibson at a great price.

    Colour me interested but a couple of questions .
    Regarding the respray ,what is 2k ? and what was the top laquer ? clear nitro ? 
    and why was the headstock front resprayed ?

    Hi Mark, I didn’t get it resprayed so I’m only parroting what I was told sorry - I don’t believe it’s nitro though. I believe the front of the headstock was resprayed because it had that awful peeling/cracking thing that often happens to Studios of that age!

    2k lacquer is the generic name for a chemically cured hardwearing auto lacquer - normally urethane based. Like what is called a poly finish I guess. It cures quickly and is tough wearing, doesn't age like nitro does.
