It seems a good opportunity missed, that's all. I'm soon to be in the market for a pretty pricey unit, and it occurred to me whilst browsing eBay that I'd be far happier spending a wedge on here with its inherent trust element.

Gav - for future ref, search for vintagesynthexplorer. They have a forum where you might get lucky, can be a bit US centric though. Otherwise evilbay is the place. Vintage synth is a good ref site for finding out about such things. Synthtopia is also good. Sometimes.

What I really want though is a drum sub-forum.

Or we could combine it as an 'other instruments' sub-forum if people want.

Thanks @blobb. I've actually made my choice; just waiting for a bit of cash to come my way (should be within a couple of months) then I'm taking the plunge and ordering a Sequential Prophet 6. Cannot wait.

Just to add to those suggesting Muffwiggler and Gearslutz,Elektronauts isn't bad too. Obviously it's aimed at Elektron gear but lots of synths and drum machines for sale as well.
