    For sure. How did you use it?

    Was the mainstay of my rig for 3 years until the switch broke. Moved across to a jrad Guthrie trapp but I think I prefer the sf.

    Really?  I've been using one for years.  Its kicked a number of other drives off of my board, some of them boutique offerings..

    Mine's the Keeley modded version though.
    Don't let your mind post toastee - like a lot of my friends did!

  • I've had the opposite where I've tried pedals and not liked them but later (sometimes years) figured it out and really them.

    I've bought countless pedals and listed them within 48hrs. A couple, like the Lovepedal HPTT I played for less than 10mins before I knew they could not do the job for me I had envisaged.

    Most recently I bought my 4th Greer Lightspeed from here and decided to put it up for sale before it had even arrived at mine.

    It's a serious problem :(

    Most high gain or muff style pedals I’ve bought have been a huge disappointment:

    * Suhr Riot (hated it immediately)
    * Bogner Burnley (ditto)

    Muff types, all sounded fine, but none were better than the DIY muff I already have, so they went almost immediately.

    I’ve had issues with Univibe pedals, too:

    * Viscous Vibe
    * Ventura Vibe

    neither of these sounded bad, and had good sounds in them, but I knew almost immediately that they weren’t the phase sound I was after.

    I love analog delay and this one seemed to tick all the boxes - long delay time, adjustable modulation, and sounded great in online demos. Unfortunately I could not get a single sound from it that I liked. The delay signal was dry and scratchy, not warm and lush.

  • I will get slated for this but I’ve flipped more boutique pedals than Boss. I’ve done exactly this @soma1975 I've owned the HPTT at least twice, first time thought it was the finest tweed pedal made, I sold it, regretted it, bought a new one played a few chords then put it on ebay the next day.

    I’ve generally been happy with most of my pedal purchases which have included boutique type pedals. However, I’ve gradually sold them off (apart from a couple) and have been gradually going back to the standard boss mass production type pedals. Great if one had the dosh to keep purchasing them but at the end of the day I’ve come to the conclusion that my average audience doesn’t give a damn or care what the boutique pedal I’m using was

    I am getting old and cynical though lol

    It's not terrible, it's just very frustrating and not what I was hoping it would be.

    I've learned my lesson with Lovepedals in general actually. Did the same thing with the Vibronaught too.

    Only one I truly loved was the Les Lius, which I thought the HPTT was gonna be like.

  • Bought a Line 6 HX FX to see how things had improved, tried a few things, sold it a few days later.

    Fast forward 12 months and having tried all the possible options you can think of for Mod, Delay and Reverb, all I have is a Line 6 HX FX and have been happy for about 6 months.

    Some times we can all be a bit hasty to dismiss something

    HX Stomp first impression was bad, but months in, I am happy with it. Most of the provides presets and bought preset packs are terrible, but I have a few models and IRs that sound good and feel like real amps to me, once I started from scratch. I use analogue pedals in front of it, though.

  • Boss Blues driver, really fizzy at high gain, lower the gain and change the amp :) and she is a keeper.

  • Pedals are one thing I don't mind having a wee selection of for experimenting. I have always managed to get something decent out of them. Sometimes I want a nasty sound! I've never had anything expensive tho, a lot are home made.
