I've wanted to play with the AR world for a while and the uni is supposed to be getting a Hololens but it's been delayed so I've not had a chance yet... 

We've got some VR headsets, and some of those things that annoy me a little - Samsung Gear VR headsets (which really are a strap and some lenses to pretend your phone is a VR setup... because nothing says immersion more than a computer incapable of displaying many pixels at a decent speed while also processing the game)...

Oculus DK1 and 2 can be had very cheap now

I have to say, RoboRaid on the Hololens is amazing.  Having aliens coming from your walls is weird.  Hard to explain it, it is obviously game style graphics.  But it maps so correctly it looks real.  You can laser blast the walls 

If you ever get chance to have a go, it is totally worth it!
