We have a winner. Awful out of tune nonsense. They played it on Radio 2 this week after Pop Master. I fucked off to the crapper until it was safe to return to work.
I thought happy-clappy's were supposed to be annoyingly positive?

What a fucking din.
To me rock guitar only works in a band context, unless you're one of those clever people who can create your own simultaneous bassline, or use a looper pedal to layer rhythmic parts to play over.
None of which is meant as a criticism of Dave Murray, I love the guy. I often wonder if those '80s guitarists really wanted to do those solo spots, or if it was just the done thing.
Well there's three up there that I rate as great memorable solos that fit the song.
Girl Like You I consider to be one of the best pop songs written in my lifetime...I couldn't imagine the solo being bettered.
Beastie Boys is a classic. The guitar solo on something like No Sleep Till Brooklyn is probably technically better but FFYR works better for me.
As Weller heavily references/ plagiarised Tax Man with Start - @proggy do you think the solo in the Beatles song is bad? I think that Start improves on the idea...
In fact im not keen on any of Alex Lifeson solos
I like the cover, but just wanna hear Van Halens solo come in, rather than Mayers somewhat but not sound a like..
I don't really like either of those songs to be honest.
I like maiden though but come on Dave what was the point!
Horrible note choice, horrible tone, horrible vibrato, too much fucking wah as per usual. And it goes on for about eight years.
Worse than leprosy.
