    With the Helix comp/eq's/reverb and an acoustic IR I'm thinking you could get something similar to the Fishman Aura turning a piezo UST signal into proper acoustic mic simulation.  It's something I'd like to try.

    Indeed you can. I took a punt on the Hummingbird IR they do and fed it my Yamaha piezo signal - enormous improvement! 
    Red ones are better.

    I'd go for a secondhand full fat Helix and use the XLR input with the acoustic
