Picked this up yesterday = A '93 Fender Deluxe reverb re-issue. It was advertised as having a Pete Cornish modification to effectively add mid control to both channels.
I e-mailed Pete Cornish to enquire about it and he replied straight away explaining that the amp had belonged to his son Mingus who had complained it lacked mid-range so he modded it.
His explanation - "I added a variable mid range pot to replace the fixed mid set by a resistor in the tone stack. As I used a 3x higher value pot than the original resistor it is possible to set the original mid by setting the new pot to about 1/3rd of full.
Lower settings mean less mids and higher settings - more mids. This is only done through the existing tone circuit and is not an "active boost" in any way."
I must say it sounds superb and makes the tone shaping much more flexible. Effectively doing I suppose what a lot of boutique amp makers have done with the Princeton/Deluxe and Vibrolux circuits to solve the same issue.
I wouldn't imagine there is another one around that he has done this to unless someone knowledgeable about such things can enlighten me.

HOWEVER Pete Cornish named his son 'Mingus'? Incredible. What a legend.
Nice NAD
pete Cornish is a big jazz fan which explains his son's name.
