Advice on a MIDI controller

I am looking to get a MIDI switcher to control patches on three pedals (H9, Timeline and Big Sky). As well as recalling presets, it would also have to have a footswitch to allow me to engage and disengage all the pedals involved in the patch, and a separate switch for tap tempo. Loops for non-MIDI pedals are not essential, as the compressor is always on, and other than that I only have a couple of drives on the board.

I have looked at some of the Disaster Area switchers and they look great, but I am a complete novice when it comes to MIDI, so any suggestions from the more MIDI-learned amongst you would be gratefully received.

Mods: I've changed the original post completely, from "WTB Fender 65 DRRI" to this (also changing the forum), because I've decided to postpone getting another amp for the moment. Please let me know if what I have done is within the rules. Ta.

Morningstar MC-6 is small, ultra programmable, and will suit whatever pedals or modeller you eventually end up with - theres one for sale on ebay at the moment.

Disaster area loppers are reality easy to programme. Believe me if I can do it anyone can. They come with an LED display now which makes things even easier. You won't regret it and they work strymons seamlessly

Are they alright with Eventides as well? The DMC 3XL Gen 3 looks like it would fit the bill.

Looks like someone bet me to it, the Morningstar would do what you need. It looks like a awesome piece of kit, I'd get one but I'm going to take the plunge on a es8.

Pretty sure they can @BintyTwanger77 in fact I maybe selling my DPC-8EZ soon but that will only control one midi device I believe but 8 loops but that doesn't have an LED display.  It connects to any DMC Disaster Area which does so can be used as a slave to it so they are very scalable as your need requires

Get in touch with DA they are always great with their support

    ill be keeping my DMC-8D

Oops my bad. To me though I would say those buttons on it are too close together for live work. One could easily accidentally kick another by mistake in a the heat of the moment IMO. DA's are close enough as it is :)

  • If you change your mind and think you need loops then Disaster Area or Free The Tone ARC.

If no loops then DAA, Morningstar or Keith McMillen SoftStep (the latter a bit more involved).

The DAA has some pre-config for Strymon, Eventide, Line 6, CBA and others. I struggled with mine initially but it was schoolboy error and DAA support were very helpful indeed.

I know it might not be in your nature but you should RTFM on this one and have a think about you'll actually be setting them up.

I wa a midi novice and midi is fiddly but a couple of weekends of reading and messing about got me there.

I'd say an Es-5 would do it, loads of Midi, an editor program, few loops, which you can move around etc.

Ah - it finished a few days ago. Was a good price as well! I almost bought it, but couldn't justify having two!.
