Does anyone know the band Wand? They're an American psych/fuzz band... they've had some excellent records out over the last five years. Ganglion Reef is particularly good. 

Also POND, tame impala's weird cousin band - they're prolific, new album out this week - I also like Beards, Wives and Denim as well as Man it feels like space again from them. 

Rum the Jewels are one of the few interesting things that have happened in hip hop recently. There second album RTJ2 is good. 

If I had to to go with one record though I'd echo @moss and recommend Father John Misty's albums.

I just put this on for the first time in about 2 years. I'd forgotten how good it is. Reflektor put me off AF a bit, but this is a really really great record. 

Indeed, and The Sprawl II is one of my all time fav songs, it's like the best song Blondie never wrote!
