Folk using Helix live - how are you protecting it?

TimmyOTimmyO Frets: 7579
If things go according to plan mine will start leaving the house at last.

I've not plumped for a bag/backpack/board/case so far, and wondering how folks are faring when playing out.

My main concern is the connections on the rear getting stepped on - I guess a flat live-in board would sort that.

Although for transporting I think I'd prefer the Gator or Novation padded bags.

Has anyone used or seen pics of any sort of doohickey that would protect that area?
Red ones are better.

I use the Helix backpack for transportation - expensive maybe but a well thought out quality item.
For on stage protection I just have my monitor tucked up to the rear of the Helix.

I went for the Helix Rack for this very reason. It's nicely protected in a flightcase at the back of the stage with only the controller at the front. I will be putting the controller in a case too, along with a couple of expression pedals.

Just a thought - a hard case with sockets in the case wall connected to the Helix.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

I do the same (I use the L2 so there is a fair amount of overhang)
I have also used a temple board and routed the outputs to a panel on the side of the board

with the external ones on the side perhaps, rather than rear? Not a bad idea...

Side/Rear whatever.  Or a connection block inside separate from the Helix.  When I had my monster boards I drilled holes in the side, had them very clearly labelled and connected to those - made life simpler.

I'm using the Thomann flight case.

It never leaves the base part even at home. There's a 2" bit at the back behind the helix where the wireless receiver lives. That means 2 cables going out - power and 1/4 inch to cab - both are protected by the space at the back of the case.

I am getting a helix but for home use only. Had a drunken oaf fall backwards and land right on top of my pedals. He then proceeded to use my les paul on its stand to pull himself up. in the end i lost it and stopped to drag him off my gear followed by a swift kick. Worst venue ever and not one i will hurry back to

Got a Novation 25 keyboard bag. It fits perfectly and is portable.

Got mine on a Pedaltrain 2 with softcase. We use a dummy monitor for protection! I have the FX8 just now so it's the same problem - cables out the back and expensive unit with drunk ppl all around
Tempted to make a simple nano board for those sorts of gigs...

I haven't used it live yet, but it fits in my old pedal train case.

I've also fitted a screen protector which I ordered from the US at the site below. It arrived pretty quickly.

I've got my eye on that if I go the bag route - do you have that one? What's the padding like?

It's when it's on the floor I was thinking of

I don't use anything for on the floor. But for transport the bag is great. The padding is fine!

A live-in board with removable top has always been my choice. It can also hold the cables already plugged in.
