hi, I bought this on the forum a few months ago for my daughter but she decided not to take up guitar (teenagers!) so I have only just got round to looking at it, and was not happy with it. I took it to my local luthier (LA guitars) to see what was wrong and he has fixed what he can but it basically needs a new neck and bridge saddles. Maybe more.

good things

1985 made in Japan fernandes in lovely black finish, only a few knocks and scratches. Body, Electrics, pickups, tuners seem fine. Trem unit now works ok ish after luthier overhauled it and replaced incorrect and broken fittings.

bad things

neck warped beyond repair and trussrod over tightened - you can play it but the action is pretty crap, tuning a bit erratic. Also the saddle screws are worn out so you cant adjust string height / intonation.

so I think I've been sold a dud - or something went badlly wrong in transit - but someone out there could have fun with this as a project.

Shall we say £100 ppg including U.K. postage?

Will add add photos shortly.

In the absence of pics, if I recall correctly, that guitar was a 24-fret set- or through-neck affair.

    It does. Thank you.

Is the vibrato bridge pivoting on wood screws through its base plate (like a vintage Fender) or on knife edges against machined metal posts (a bit like a Floyd Rose or a Wilkinson VS50)?

Just taken off the backplate and it is just like my fender strat, i.e. Wood screws through the base plate. Apparently one was rusted through so the luthier replaced it with another one ( but it doesn't match the other screw)

The screws to which I refer are the pair at the leading edge of the vibrato bridge, more or less in line with the two E string saddles. These are out of focus in the photographs.

The screws by the bridge that hold the trem in place go through the base plate
