Some amps love pedals/guitars more than others!

I've been privileged to own some great combos in my time: Mesa Boogie mk4; Carr Slant 6v; Tone King Sky King; Divided By 13 JRT 9/15; Fender Twin.

Some of these have disliked pedals, some have had their favourites but none has liked every pedal on my board. Until now....

My recently acquired Two Rock Crystal 40w is revealing tones and subtleties that I wasn't aware of previously. The Analogman King of Tone was always great but is now a masterpiece. Strymon Möbius now sounds more like a Leslie than ever before. Gravitas boost blows my mind. This Two Rock is the best pedal partner I've experienced.

Then there's what it does to your guitars! Danelectro Pro neck pickup is now to die for. Echopark 62 is a Stratocaster to beat all custom shop pretenders. Esquire with Cavalier Big Lion+ pickup brings forth Keef. Lollar Tele pickups in my M-Tone shimmer.

Of course, our most important bit of kit is our ears and we all hear things differently but to me, at least, the Crystal probably won't be beat.

Next time you audition an amp, even if it's in a guitar store, take your own guitars and pedals and buy the amp that brings more from your gear than you knew was possible.

Yes but this time it's a long term relationship.

I had a Gibson Nighthawk and a Mesa Rocket 440, sounded great but would not do pinch harmonics.

    So I sold the amp.

    I totally agree.

Although if my rig gets any bigger I'll need to check their floor plans and structural loadings in advance.

I think you're expecting a bit much from your gear - it's normally the player who does pinch harmonics....
