Scaremonger. That's not what the article says. It makes two points. First there is an increasing background level of malware activity. Secondly, people should expect to discover more of what has already been perpetrated when they return to work on Monday.

The vast majority of devices in our environment are unmanaged Windows 7. A decision was made last year NOT to go to Windows 10, NOT to rollout a management agent when updating from XP, and NOT to patch them regularly. I will fairly surprised if we haven't been hit somewhere.

The way I've read the article it's more of a warning to be vigilant as it's currently the weekend. Tomorrow *might* see further attacks but it's ( hopefully ) not a fresh attack, just that not everyone who works via a computer has done so since Friday.
