Good anthemic singalong songs for a pub/club band ?

A couple of notable ones that we do that often get the crowds singing along with us is Queens We Will Rock You and Oasis's Don't Look Back In Anger. Now the Oasis one is practically every single gig the crowds sings this one....the WWRY is often but some crowds just don't seem to as much. Looking at other anthemic songs that get the whole joint singing along with the band...what songs do you do that do this ?

Sex On Fire and Mr Brightside. Yes, loads of covers and function bands play these songs.....but ^ there's your reason why.

Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon gets a similar thing too, for us.

I did quite a lot of acoustic cover shows and The Boxer always got people singing at the end of a night..
Otherwise, Living on a Prayer was always good. Haven't played a covers gig for 10+ years though, so maybe not any more.

We already do Happy Birthday well...when we are told its someones birthday at least...though our singerist often asks in excited anticipation "is it anyones birthday?" so we do 1 round slow and mellow then the next time around is heavy n rockin.

As for Sex On Fire - yes we do that one to - and yeah they often (not always but mostly) sing along in the choruses.

    C'mon Everybody

We used to play C'mon Everybody in the Sex Pistols style in a band I was in. The singer never really knew the lyrics so used to sing this in the chorus "I don't know the words and nor do you....Hoo C'mon Everybody"

Crowd loved it, he used to hold the microphone into the audience for the chorus and random drunk punks would scream down the mic.

    Good times.

    Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody.

Possibly best kept by for those festive gigs, but give it a go in June in an ironic sort of way.

That's a good call...though not sure how good that sounds with no piano. We is but a simple 4 piece bass/drums/guitar/vox

A few of the suggestions so far we already do...Jonny B Good, Proud Mary, All Right Now, Whiskey In The Jar.

The Jovi track is a good call, we do Its My Life already but Livin - our signerist is scared that's too high for him.

"American Woman" - The Guess Who.  One guy with an acoustic guitar started playing this at an open jam recently and by the time it was over(about 15 minutes later) 7 or 8 musicians had joined in and every female in the place was belting it out.  Never seen anything like it.

Played it once at a wedding in the middle of summer - lovely sunny day too - because the bride and groom were emigrating to Australia and wouldn't see everyone at Christmas, so they wanted to bring it forward a few months! Went down great. In fact, we've played it at Christmas parties before now where it hasn't
