Why aren't Strymon PSUs earthed?

i was getting terrible mains hum with my Big Sky earlier, as I was recording direct to a battery powered Tascam, so there was no earth.

Only when I switched the two-pin Strymon PSU for a 3pin earthed PSU did the hum disappear.

Why do Strymon supply garbage PSUs with their high end pedals?

Because the standard use involves a grounded amp, in which case a non-grounded PSU will likely mean less noise.

True, but it's not the only use. Strymon's YouTube channel shows the BigSky used with synths and also the emulated out recorded direct.

i suppose a PSU with an on/off earth switch is too much to ask, but.
