Awful political photographs

Noticed a trend over the last years, that any photo accompanying an article against a particular policy always shows a picture of the politician with a mid moment facial expression.

I guess it comes from Ed Milliband's burger moment? but I really hate it as a thing.

It honestly feels like the Buzzfeed image listicle has become a template, or at least an influence in modern journalism.  Both can co-exist... but if it is politics I'd like to keep it serious personally

Not just media articles, the Conservatives leaflet I got through the door had aforementioned silly photos of Corbyn, Farron and Sturgeon on it.

Re the two pictures, whoever selected the first one one did it to undermine the subject. In the second one the subject repeatedly undermines himself so you can pick any picture.

Although if we're talking near-instant political death, then the stills from one of the videos featuring Rob Ford are absolute gold.

To be fair, a tog would have to carefully pick their moment to NOT catch Theresa May in the middle of some bizzare facial contortion. During the more awkward moments of the QT leaders special her mush was all over the shop.
