I thought it was poor form for Liam to play his new single between two Oasis numbers.  It made it look like he only agreed to perform In order to promote it.
So every other person on the bill shouldn't have played their own stuff?

I very much doubt The Stone Roses or Smiths would have been on the cards, the demographic was very much young teenagers and the concert was about them, not just the history of Manchester music.  Much as I would like to have seen a 15 minute version of fools Gold.
Moz turning up with Theresa on the Guillotine would have been fun.

    The backing band were Arianna's

How on earth did they learn all the other songs so well within a week?  Madness

Great gig, I watched most of it.  Great effort all round
Because they are professionals and professionals can do that. It's what they do.

Not my cup of tea at all but it was a good effort. I'd never heard of Grande before the bombings but kudos to her for pulling it off / fronting it so quickly. I can't imagine it was easy.

Not that I minded at all, however I've quite a few people saying it. I spose there were better known songs, but a gig is a gig and variety is a good thing

For all of us who understand live perofrmance and as someone personally who once co-owed a business in the music industry that specialised in live performance (well choreog), the sheer magnitude of the Manchester gig and how people managed to get it on so seemlessly is mind blowing. What an amazing effort.

The logistics, rehersal times and so on that went in must have been round the clock affairs- just watching Buckland, Martin and Grande covering Don't Look Back with such ease in a totally different arrangement shows how talented these guys are.

To put that all together in a week is mind blowing.

Wonderful effort- and again, those that slag Coldsore off need to go and see them live.

None of it was my sort of music, but what they did with the show and the sentiment was something special.

Not a Coldplay fan, but regardless, they are all very talented performers and musicians.

  • The gig was never going to feature much of the music that I like....so I'll watch half an hour or so just to see what it was all about. Was my initial plan....but I watched the whole thing. Couldn't turn it off. Wish that I was there.

That moment when Arianna was singing with the school choir was ram-packed with emotion, hard not to shed a tear at that and what they've all been through.

My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Turns out Noel has been diverting all royalties from sales of Don't Look Back In Anger to families affected by the attack ever since it was adopted as a kind of unofficial anthem by people singing it at memorial gatherings etc...I.e. BEFORE this concert was confirmed. So much for him not giving a shit.....

I'm not a fan of Coldplay but took my daughter to see them in Cardiff last week. Great show, good songs and Chris Martin is a brilliant showman. One of the best stadium shows I've seen.

I think there here is a bit of 'band-wagon jumping' with the Chris Martin backlash. Could it be jealousy cos I'm jealous as fuck of the guy! Think I have a bit of a man-crush on him actually!
