Bands you didn't like growing up that you now love

What's Hot
So I was a teenager in the late 90's-early 00's. One of the bands that was quite popular with some of my friends and the music press was Weezer. I couldn't stand them. But for the last few weeks I've been listening to them quite a lot, especially the likes of Pinkerton and Maladroit, which I remember turning my nose up at in various music stores 15 years or so ago...

Any other bands that you've Theresa May'd over?

Rage against the machine. Some of my friends liked em. I was into Grunge & didn't like the rap vocal.

My dad is into Sabbath, Led Zep which I liked. He keep playing Rush, Marillion etc, Which I couldn't get into.  I'm now starting to get the attraction.

My guitar teacher has had me playing some funky stuff like Long Train Runnin', Move On Up...I would have never listened to that sort of stuff but am really enjoying it.

    The Smiths.

Hated them in the 80's - I was all about Maiden and Metallica, but I really like em now.

Not so much hated but had an image imapsse - when you are a Bowie + Roxy devotee, going to a Gong gig or owning a copy of The Court of the Crimson King is a total no-no! Let alone boogie-ing to MAN in your summer holidays round your mates' nextdoor neighbour's out of work/ private school educated hippie son...

I'm not sure I like stuff now that I hated when I was younger.

I think I probably just got used to hearing it being played.

Bruce Springsteen, I couldn't see what all the fuss was about, but thanks to Spotify and listening thru his back catalogue I had a U-turn.

I hated, or thought I hated, the Grateful Dead - boring hippies that dared to still exist during punk.

Years later I found a mid-70s live collection which was utterly bonkers... it sounded like Television. Then I worked backwards to Workingman's Dead, American Beauty, etc.

Funnily enough I now adore loads of mid-late 60s psychedelia... Love, the Lovin' Spoonful, the Left Banke, Kaleidoscope... an incredible time for music.

I dunno about hated but I never had an interest in big band or swing jazz, now it's pretty pleasant to listen to and creates a good vibe when on at home.

And I almost never listen to reggae anymore
