Private remote transactions.... and payment pitfalls..

a hot topic on here... but in a nutshell other than collection only, are there any safeguards one can make as a seller receiving payment for a sale which is to be delivered.

Is Bank Transfer 100% solid?
I hear PPG is reversable too; is this a myth??

As a seller via FB/Gumtree etc, I always insure, track and sign my deliveries but I have become increasingly concerned about the risk of payment reversal.
