    At some point there will be an OCD 3 that will go back to the earlier circuit like the FD 3 did.

    You can't do that without a version 2.

    I have nothing against the OCD but when listening to these V2 demos the only sounds that were interesting were where the OCD was turned off(!) in the 62 SG>68Marshall! and the lower vol/gain on the Fender Deluxes. I have cheap clones/alternatives that deliver better tones than the Hi Gain examples in this demo.

    Can't speak for the V2 but for me the V1 OCD is much better at low gain than high gain, and is better still on 18V.  It has more headroom and responds in a very amp like way.  You can set it so that it's almost clean with a light pick attack, but drives when you dig in.
