However, as a teacher and someone on the receiving end of the governments prevent training, I couldn't help but note as my colleagues did, that anyone that had a moderately left-wing or republican view in the uk was considered a 'potential' extremist and should be 'reported'.
It goes to figure that the issue is any viewpoint that does not follow the status quo, regardless of right, left or religious persuasion.
Edit: Just a thought that came to me after posting this: the Manics sang 'We are all bourgeois now' although in reality it should have perhaps been 'We are all extremists now' (which accounts for pretty much everything from my religious right parents to our republican Labour leader)?
