yeah sure, I think it could.  Look at the NES Classic, it was near impossible to get one.  There's a huge market for retro systems.

I got one from a charity shop about 17 years ago with 20 games for £10 the lot and it's still working fine ! 

Funny seeing games like Super Breakout and Yars Revenge with price tickets still on them for £39.99 ... in 1983/4 !
