Cheap full range passive Cab

Axe_meisterAxe_meister Frets: 4646
Fully considering getting a Helix or Headrush.
Now I already have a power amp (boggie 50/50) so looking at potentially a
passive full range cab.
Can any of you recommend a cheap stereo full range passive cab?

The problem is your boogie is not a FRFR amp, you would probably  be better off getting an active cab or using the Boogie with a guitar cab

It's a power amp rather than guitar based amplifier (no pre-amp) so pretty clean with fullish range.

Yes, I'm sure it'll be fine but not ideal.  It's designed to act as a guitar power amp with all the sag and characteristics so not perfect as a FRFR amp.  Wouldn't really know what to suggest to pair it with I'm afraid

You're very unlikely to find a cheap stereo FRFR cab I think.

Your best bet is a pair of old PA cabs, they tend to sell for very little these days if they're passive and low-power-rated - and they're usually fairly heavy which makes them even less desirable. Something like Laney, Peavey, Carlsbro - even Marshall made them :). They won't be very flat-response by modern standards but you already know that isn't the prime consideration.

I think the Mesa power amp is wasted going in to a couple of cheap PA speakers, you can get a good FRFR powered speaker like a RCF310 for a couple of hundred quid that would be portable and sound great.  The Mesa amp is an expensive bit of kit to be used in such a mismatched set-up

Decent cabs don't come cheap, My Yamaha's were £475 a pair for passive 1x12 with horn, I'm selling mine but I wouldn't take less that £325 tbh for the pair

Maybe I'll go just go into my interface into my monitors

Early days yet. Have to shift a G-system first but the market has been killed by Helix/fractal
