Kemper Question

I see Dr Z have profiled their amps. Has anyone tried the profiles. ??

Might be a very persuasive argument to get a Kemper if they are good.

Yeah, I purchased them. They're excellent! Like the amps, I'm not sold on all the profiles. The EZG profile is sublime though.

    Now you're talking...

The EZG was my favourite amp, but suffered from needing to be loud to get the goods.

Whenever I've heard a modelling amp attempt to do a big bold Fender clean it nearly always came up short @paulmapp8306 get pretty close with the AFX but he was very knowledgeable about the tweaking side of them and I would never be prepared to spend the time learning how to get there. I never heard a Kemper do a good clean, they tend to do dirt better, but my experience is limited.

There are only two profiles of the EZG compared to up to five of some of the other models, which is perhaps a shame as it's, to my ears at least, the pick of the crop. The first EZG profile is probably the best clean sound I've had out of the Kemper... well worth the 28 quid to buy I'd say.

I'm really hoping more manufactures jump on board with profiling their own wares.

I love my kemper, but I'm not sure this was a smart move on their behalf. However I don't know their mark up on amps compared to the money they'll make on these

    I'm keen to try!

I absolutely think it's a smart move. If they don't do it somebody else will, if they haven't already.

Very smart move .......watch other mid size amp makers follow suite
Totally agree with Hywelg -none of the modellers do a magnificent clean (98% good tho ) -they seem to need that little hair on the sound to mask the digital metallic overtone

Love it, the Z-Lux and Carmen Ghia profiles sound great.

Ive got a Kemper with them mate - superb.

The key, like all digital gear, is setting up initally. Once done, the Kemper is very impressive.

    This.

Also, I wouldn't buy a Dr Z amp, but I might buy these.

    Mega smart move.

The long term future of high end will include digital, being involved makes a lot of sense.
