NPD and setting for KoT

Received the KoT a week or so ago. The left hand side is set to o/d and is frankly everything I wanted. Struggling a bit (it is relative and a bit of a first world issue) with the rhs which is a higher gain. Wasn't there a thread a few months back on how folks have set their up?

I have both sides with all the controls set around 1-2 o'clock and both sides on at once.
Sounds immense.

Agree with that. Both sides on is epic. At the setting I have currently, just not quite sure on the rhs. This is domestic levels only... Rehearsal next week may be different

With OD/distortions I always start with everything half way up, then adjust to taste.
If I'm just trying a pedal, again everything at halfway will point out (generally) whether you like the pedal or no
This method has never let me down.

Mine or Marks?
Mine is set to distortion and it is the higher gain red side model, with a buffer.

Bloody hell @octatonic you are full on! In response to @BBBlues mine is high gain on the rhs but remains on od mode not distortion

Essentially the same pedals on the front end plus an octaver, an EHX Hog and a Fractal FX8 in the loop.

I always have my guitar volume rolled back a little to around 6/7 as i find you get a lovely tone/feel with the KoT oaround there and you can obviously bring up the volume for all out filth if you need.

I usually have the below settings on both sides. I use the yellow side as a clean/breakup boost and kick in the Red side on top of the yellow side for a super lead tone and thats the point i usually jizz my pants!

Kot settings (Same on both sides)
Volume - 11
Tone - 12
Drive - 4/5ish (Pretty full on and dirty!)

I'd recommend the clean mode, volume around 2:30 and gain anywhere between 3:00 to full

I have the high gain option and both (and buffer, and external switch).

I have both set about the same as Octatonic's pics - right side is clean mode, left side is overdrive.

Use them basically as a boost into a Wampler Plexidrive, or on their own for blues-esque type overdrive.

And the two stacked - is a thing of absolute beauty, just wonderful.

Holy crap. Full rehearsal last night before Saturday's gig.

Observations #1- I had always not really paid attention to the 'cuts through the mix at higher volumes' comments before. Well get this. Using @octatonic suggested settings the fecking thing was on fire. Left side was luuuurvely. Nice and crunchy. With the strat it was clean with a bit of break up. Add some some boost from a mini spark and got mildly filthy. With a les Paul it was just on it. Then on the rhs, sweet Jesus, it hit the spot every time. Irrespective of guitar. Add Lhs to taste and it if really want some, add the mini spark. It was fecking dangerous- the sound was that good I missed several ques on songs! 

observations #2- add a decent power supply. I bought a 4x4 from @handsomerik and the clean power has made a massive difference to the whole pedal board. No hums, interference, noise etc. Even the keely compressor which is normally as hissy as a box of snakes was quiet.

i am now seriously worried that my GAS is evaporating.... I ant think of anything I want.....eek!

I reckon most people who move the KOT on quickly/don't get it have just noodled around at bedroom volumes. It honestly is as good as you say. Glad you like it!
