sittin' on the porch without no shoes......

But seriously, if you're after an office chair just go to your local auction house.  My way they have them in every month and they sell for £2 or nothing at all.

Thanks Sporky, I'll keep an eye on their sales. It feels like a lot of dosh but maybe not so much in the scheme of how much we all spend on GAS...
I'm not sure you can compare a nice guitar, amp and pedals to a stool.
    Indeed.

The stool will be better made, more useful and last longer.
But does it sound as good?

I have a nice gaming chair, because I'm a sad loser, the arms get in the way, but I can't bring myself to remove them, because I use them all the time. Great chair though, after years of getting by with £50 Ikea and Argos jobbies, I finally invested and I can (and do) spend hours in this chair daily and it's always comfortable.

Normally I stand, because that's how I play. If I'm transcribing, and need access to keyboard or paper then I use a stool. How can you use a chair without banging your guitar on the back, or worse arms.

For cello it's improved my posture, which has improved my bow hold, which has most certainly improved the sound. So yes.
