jusy finished a brutal few weeks work and I've been eating junk so it could help detox and balance my diet a bit but does it taste hideous and make you feel rubbish or energised?

    Detox is bullshit.

    Just eat healthy, unprocessed stuff.

Detox = liver and kidneys. So eat liver and onions and plenty of steak and kidney pud.

Guy at work drinks it for lunch, he uses it to help lose weight and not for detox.

I just looked at the Huel website. Depending on my frame of mind, the product pic of the bar reminded me of:

HIGHBROW - a section cut out of the 1967 Mark Boyle artwork, "Holland Park Avenue Study" (3-D representation of paving slabs, kerb, tarmac and a yellow line.)

LOWBROW - portion controlled doggy log

Thanks - has it worked?  Did it find it hard work sticking with it?    I figure as replacement for lunch and some meals it could be worth a try.

Have not tried it but looks like another product designed to steal money from your wallet.

Surely a healthy protein, fruit and veg diet would do the same?

Give it a try and let us know I love the idea of a shake for lunch, used to drink Sci Mx Diet shakes (but they taste like shit so stopped)

He seems to drink it quite regularly (not every day though) and he's not gaining weight, so that's a start!
I'll ask him tomorrow what he thinks of it.

Of course, most of them died before they were thirty.

All this stuff is bullshit. Marketing rubbish. YOu don't need this crap to have a good diet.

Cook fresh, don't over indulge, be active.

The one thing I would suggest getting is a nutribullit, or similar. Do yourself smoothies made with kale, spinach, almond milk or similar, plus any fruit, veg, nuts, grains. One of those will give you a lot of your daily minerals and fibre and that. Have one of those instead of your usual breakfast, and just eat a balanced diet. Plenty of water too.

    Job done.

I know about it from Dave Gorman taking the piss,at some length, about it. It's oats with added stuff. Watching the Huel videos ( company own) the user testimonials would have passed as out takes from an eating disorder documentary and it makes me wonder who is buying this stuff.
Taste wise it seems to be what you'd expect - it's like plain porridge ( no milk, sugar, salt, etc).

not strictly true as throughout millennia they used many herbs and hedgerow supplements for medicinal and restorative purposes that we have all but forgotten about as laymen...

Eat porridge with fruit for breakfast, light salad lunch and cook fresh evening meals. Avoid junk and cut down on alchol and sugar. Avoid processed foods that includes Sausages, Ham, & bacon! (I do indulge these but in very small amounts).
There is a school of thought that fasting days will help lengthen your life but I can't bring myself to make that change (yet)?
There are a thousand 'diets' but fresh cooked foods and no junk is the best.
Take exercise, this can include walking to the shops or parking further from the office.
There is no magic potion so don't get suckered, just eat well.
