Old Boss Chorus Question

What's Hot

Hi, my old Boss CE3 is starting to develop a few issues that may be component age related (slight delay in switch on, increased hiss, volume jump), just wondered if there's any common things that are a good idea to replace for something purchased in the 80's - cap changes etc?

Thanks :-)

The CE-3 is not listed here in their Mods Section but it might be worth contacting them and their service is good (used them before)

You could nab another one as might be cheaper than a repair.

Boss used electrolytic caps in the signal path (coupling caps) when they needed higher values. I've replaced them in a couple of my older Boss pedals with tantalums or something else. Electrolytics associated with the power supply might benefit from a change as well maybe?

Seconded - I've had Pedalmods do some work on my CE-2 (reversing a mod which had been done prior to me buying it back to factory spec). Great service - and the pedal sounds fantastic.
