I make quite a few chambered Strats with "F" holes, I've never found that a Swamp Ash "F" hole Strats sounded very different to solid one. Many years when I started to make them, it was to use up very heavy ash. The aim was to use wood that if used for a normal Strat it would have been far too heavy (5 to 6lb) , but by adding chambers to this wood I ended up with bodies weighing in round the 4lb.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

Here's my latest Fhole project. Not quite finished but an absolute featherweight/heavyweight if you get my drift.

I must be one of the few that thought that the original EJ Strat was terrible, Huge neck with a flat profile and as dull as a set of year old strings . Im not averse to the f hole idea at all, more tones to play with imho but if the Fender one does indeed ship with the EJ neck it'll be useless
