D&M video ....

What's Hot
hotpickupshotpickups Frets: 1822
.... a recent video was uploaded. Has anyone seen it yet? It's about how Dan uses it with his G2. However whet I didn't understand is after the two TRS jacks were inserted into the pedal then how does he use loops 5 and 6 when there is only one jack to insert using that TRS cable he's using? Hope you know whet I mean.

Or am I being dumb....again :(

Once the DIP switches on the pedal are changed, the jack sockets on the pedal become enabled for TRS plugs.  The TRS cables which he plugs into the in & out sockets split into two mono jacks on each cable (so two TRS plugs become four mono plugs). Then these go to  a loop each on the G2.

Ah I thought the cable was 2 TRS jacks at one end and one single jack at the other doh! my bad :( Makes sense now

Can't help thinking that's a real bodge - why not support four sockets like (for example) the KoT? And why the dip switches? Why not have four sockets normal'ed?

You end up with much bulkier TRS plugs, and the dip switch faff

In standard mode, I believe there is a switch on top of the pedal which selects between booster into drive or drive into booster. When you change the DIP switches that's when the two sides become individual loops when used with TRS cables. This only makes sense with a looper/switcher  which can change the pedal order (like the G2 or the BOSS ES-5/8).

I'm assuming that as it's Dan's signature pedal it makes  sense to have the option of using  it the way  he prefers.

I'm with @hotpickups on this in that I don't understand how the ONE INPUT into the bypass looper (in this instance G2) is allocated to two individual loops.

The TRS cable he shows is clearly two mono to one stereo and he even states that.
    How very rock and roll

I thought I weren't going mad. Thanks for that. Might have to view it again ;) Not a pedal I'd be interested in but just viewing out of interest :)

"Mick" is in loop 5, "Dan" is in loop 6 - he's using two loops on the G2

I think we've established that! But how? There is only one physical input going into the G2. Is it programmed within G2 to select the signal from either side of the pedal and then allocated to two individual loops?

Just watched it again. He's using 2 of those TRS stereo to mono patch cables. The two jack ended goes into the looper and the single jack goes into one of the inserts i.e. Dan's or Mick's insert etc. It was glossed over very quickly but can see it now :)

Yeah, I get it now! I actually just skulked off to the loo at work and watched the video again as it was doing my head in! Ive never devoted so much time and thought to a thread based on something I have absolutely no interest in or intention of purchasing!
