Best fuzz I've ever heard is the Mercury from Effectrode. I think some more might be coming back into stock later this year.

Can you not daisy chain from somewhere? Tuner pedal?
No daisy chain option from the Polytune 2 Mini  - and to be honest I'd rather not daisy chain, fuzzes can be temperamental enough without daisy-chaining power.  The board is very quiet, even in places with shitty power, and I'd rather not compromise on everything being isolated.

You could get a Hudson Broadcast though they're a bit more than £100, but much more versatile than a FF.

Or run your FF off a battery, like God intended.
If i wanted something I could only run from a battery, I wouldn't have started this thread - I'd rather not be in a situation at a gig where I need to disassemble a pedal to change the battery in it.
In my experience, fuzz is very forgiving when it comes to battery drain. Your band will probably pack it in before the battery in your fuzz does.

It sounds pretty good from the demos I've just listened to - but the 12V wall-wart makes it not viable.

That may be, but it's a non-negotiable for me.  No 9v input, no buy.

You could always use a 9v to battery clip adapter - that way you can have whatever fuzz you like.

I use a bc-109 (I think that was the correct code) silicon fuzz, hand point to point wired (no circuit board or even vero, just parts that link), by Abbott music and run from a standard 9v producing brick as well as battery. Very old school fuzz based on Gilmour's I believe, well worth a try or at least a Facebook enquiry.
