Ordered strings, got message to say dispatched and an est. date.

which came an went. after 9 days I opened a case and seller sent a snotty message saying they were sent and issued a refund. Next Day, they arrived. I messaged seller to say Ill repay, and again, a snotty reply saying 'this is why people shouldn't be able to open complaints, and if he must, he has to send an invoice. I was only trying to be nice.....

You were both right, to be honest - if he's a high-volume seller, he probably has to deal with people taking advantage of eBay's seller-hating ways on a daily basis, so a little bit of his soul dies every time he gets one of those emails.

Either that, or you're talking to a minion on work experience who resents anything resembling work.
