Nano board..

After much to'ing and fro'ing, I've decided that for live use I want a simple board.

If if I set up a Pedaltrain Nano, then I can get a Mono guitar tick and clip it onto the front of the gig bag.. handy.

On it will be Wireless Receiver -> Polytune -> Boss LS2 -> Ampeg SCR-DI

I will have the A output of the LS2 going to the front of the amp, and the B output going to the SCR-DI, then out to the power amp in.

I may swap out the SCR for a Sansamp, but either will give me a DI backup board as well.

I need to power it - does anything other than a Cioks Adam fit under the Nano?

    - Pedaltrain volto
    - Warwick Rockboard power LT

Both fit underneath and are also lithium battery so can run unplugged for 16+ hours

Will the Volto cope with my setup? I'll need to use one output to deliver to the Wireless (centre+) and then chain the polytune-LS2-SCR-DI

Bit worried the SCR-DI might be a bit hungry.. The connection on the back says 9v 100mA, but still....

hmm yeah... there do seem to be a lot of limitations on the description.. Could you get a nano+ board and use the extra slot for a regular power supply?
Or does that defeat the object?

Won't fit in the handy guitar tick bag (Mono) then as it only takes up to a 14" board..

Might just have to get the Adam

  • If those are the pedals you're running I wouldn't bother with a fancy PSU. I'd just daisy chain off something decent like a one spot.

What wireless are you using? I suspect that will be the one that draws the most current.

I use a one spot to power my mini bass board and I've not had a problem with a couple of pub gigs that have noisy mains.

Wireless is a smoothhound - onespot might work - can it do centre + ?

You would need the adaptor fitted to that output on the daisy chain. You'll need that for most supplies though.

I have the smooth hound on my main guitar board and power it (and a polytune) using a cheapo HB junior (two outputs combined to give enough current for the SH - it needs the combined 240mA) but if that fits under the nano it's another option.

2nd vote for Cioks DC5, fits comfortably:

  • DC5 all the way; it was designed with the Nano and Metro boards in mind. So good I have it on 3 boards.

+1 for the DC5, an altogether better unit than the Adam. I use one with my Nano+ and very happy with it.

After much to'ing and fro'ing, I've decided that for live use I want a simple board.
    I did exactly this.

I've ended up with 9 pedals on my board, and I'm wondering how I can fit another in there.

    So...good luck with that.

But for bass I need a tuner, a preamp/DI and, Er...

Synth Wah? Chorus? Delay? Drive pedal? Fuzz?

C'mon man, show some imagination. There are endless possibilities for spending money here!

A decent compressor and modulation are essential surely.

+1 for the Cioks DC5.  I think it's a bit better than the Adam.
    I've got mine under a Metro 24.

Compressor built into the EICH head is excellent so covered there..

Modulation - I have a lot of that built into my playing (unintentionally)

    ;)

Thanks for the advice all BTW - It'll be the DC5 I think.

For bigger stuff where I need more effects I can just use the Helix instead - this was always meant as a small quick-use board
