Where to source a cool aged looking 50s style scratchplate?

Love my black 97 page era cs 50s tele, but want to replace the guard.

 Its warping a bit and i would like to swap for another one. 

What colour do you reckon and from where?

Fender single-ply white 'guards are supposed to warp a bit. (That's what obliged Leo to change to the three-ply white/black/white plastic material and three more fastening screws.) They do not discolour much either.

The off-white colour that Fender calls Parchment is probably the most period correct replacement. Tortoiseshell and pearlescent plastics will look bold against the black finish. Mirror would look (literally) dazzling. Tooled leather might look a bit too "Country" but it would have a certain cheesy rightness about it.

Im on a guitar modding mission at the moment and should actually chill out for a bit.

Since the "1957" designation is entirely notional, there is nothing to stop you fitting a single-ply Bakelite 'plate. Your guitar would then be masquerading as a 1954/55 model. If you want to pretend at 1952/53, a few screws would need changing to straight slot heads. Only the most retentive of observers would notice any difference.

Get an acrylic one from Callaham, they don't warp.

I know many go down this option mainly as they don't warp
