    Ibanez Artcore.
Well made, good playing, affordable & pretty too.
The pickups on the lower models are bland. Not bad per se, but a bit characterless.

  • For a bit more money, I keep hearing good things about the Gretsch Streamliner range. I've not tried one, but (as with all Gretsch guitars) they look the part.

Have a look in the classifieds. I know there was a Dot PRO there recently, and a very nice Artcore AS73.

You should be positively spoiled for choice if you've got 200 notes and don't mind buying used.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

Pre-owned Hamer XT Echotone, perhaps? (Indonesian rather than Korean.) Likely to need pickup and pot upgrades.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I'd go for the artcore in the classifieds here, looks lovely and great price.

I don't think the hollowed out Teles particularly cover the classic 'semi' tones although they have nice tone in and of themselves. Low hundreds would suggest a used Epiphone Semi in the £150-200 range as a taster, you could recover much of the cost if you moved it on again.

Looks awesome, almost bought it myself but I'm a complete tart and am waiting on the UK release of the same guitar in blue in a few months time, though it's going to cost double what you paid sadly.
