On the rare occasion I plug in and start to play Hawkwind's Silver Machine it seems to come out as The Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Show. Are they in fact the same song and does anyone need to play either of them anyway?

Well they both have a 'boogie' rhythm but they're not the same song ;)

I was just pointing out - tongue in cheek - that the opening chord sequences of both are very similar. Thinking about it, so is Cigarettes And Alcohol by Oasis.

@AlexC listen to "Get It On" by T Rex. They ripped Oasis off lol ;)

I really wish you hadn't mentioned Hawkwind. Last year I went to see them on tour. I can quite honestly say it was the worst concert I've ever been to in my life. I can most likely wright book on how shit it was. If it wasn't for the fact you could see the  bass player and the guy playing the drums you would not have know there were they. you certainly couldn't hear them. When you could hear the vocals it was more like a mumble. Throughout the whole concept (will for as long as I stayed there) was a constant drone, almost like somebody was touching the end of the guitar jack plug. The only thing apart from that drone you could hear were the keyboards and I didn't make much sense either.

On a brighter note, I did go and see the Rocky Horror show last year in Brighton. It was a cut down version of what I've seen before, but it was still great. As usual, the audience dressed accordingly.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

Sounds like every Hawkwind gig I've ever been to.

As much as I enjoy some of their stuff I've always thought they were more Wind than Hawk.
