Samsung Phone Stutters While Playing Music....

What's Hot
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3 that tends to stutter when playing music while the screen is off. I've tried it through the stock music player, another one from Google Play and currently VLC For Android.

I've asked Google and it seems like it's a generic issue, with several vague answers. So.....any ideas?

I'll find out what version of Android I'm running if it helps.

Ta in advance etc :)

    Mine does this on Bluetooth.
Restart helps a bit but not entirely.

From what I can gather we're supposed to just live with it.

I won't be buying a Samsung again and Samsung won't care.

You're not listening to 'My Generation' by The Who, are you?

    No lol

@Alnico yeah that's the general vibe I got from Google. It's not a *huge* deal as virtually all of my music is on MP3 but it'd be nice to be able to play the couple of songs that are on my phone.

I *won't* be buying Samsung again though.

My Samsung (A3?) does that too sometimes. GPS is even worse. I was listening to instructions with headphones on today to try it out on the bike, and it would just stop. So I would get directions for a while, and then after passing a few junctions think "hey, wasn't I supposed to turn there?". Yep, but fucking android is fucking crap sometimes.

Great for app choice, compared to my Windows 10 Mobile phone, but so unreliable.

Oh, and why is the "play count" in Google Play Music so much more reliable through a web-browser than Google's own app?? I had an android phone a few years ago, left and came back thinking they would have fixed this shit by now.

My last phone did this... haven't noticed it with the S7 Edge... thought it was just my handset.

It's not an issue I've had with Android or with other phones just my Samsung, so I'm almost convinced it's a manufacturers problem.

I used to get that on my S2. It got better when I started using Poweramp. Ugly as it is, it's a pretty great music app. Plays FLAC as well.

  • I get this when using bluetooth headphones, and I'm using an LG G5. I thinks it's a bt / Android issue rather than a Samsung one.

Samsung can do it on wired headphones ... source: my wired headphones.

    Why are you repeating yourself?
