I've had both a National and a Dobro in the past, both USA made. I sold the National Style O as although very nice it marked easily, was heavy and cold to touch and above all as you might guess sounded very metallic. The Dobro was my resonator of choice, the wooden body sounded much warmer and the neck more comfortable. Hope that helps or have you decided what type your looking for?
