Its funny how we all like different things. I have the identical guitar and out of the 11 guitars I own its my favourite.

I couldn't even tell you why I don't get on with it, I just feel it's not the guitar for me. I've wanted one for years and I thought I would grow to like it but it's just never happened.

I genuinely have no idea. Doesn't say on the spec sheet and can't find any info online.

I believe a Standard should have '57's, Specials have 490's.

Don't think that's the case, but I'm not an expert by any means...
My impression is that the full/batwing pickguard SGs generally have 490/498s while the half/"vintage" pickguards have 57s.

With these guitars it's kind of a crapshoot, though...
