  • 1.  Fine, I've got several EZX expansions they all work ok in SD3.

    2.  I've never tried to grab a drum groove from a full mix, so I couldn't comment on how effective that would be.

I had a look yesterday and it looks like it will only work with drum audio, which completley makes sense.

    From the Toontrack website:
"Simply drop your drum audio material in Tracker, let it quickly analyze your content and in no time, you’ll be able to preview the MIDI based on your original tracks. Start blending, augmenting, replacing and creating!"

I'm still interested to see what that Led Zeppelin track would sound like, although I'm pretty sure it could be messy.

    1. Same here.
    2. Me either.

FWIW The best snare in all of the libraries is the Nashville snare. I use it on everything.

    I bought that Nashville EZX earlier in the year after your recommendation. Cheers for that @octatonic ;

Finally bit the bullet, am downloading it now.

Edit: Really liking this. Have been using it more than EZDrummer2, although maybe thats "new toy syndrome!"

It's a very good bit of kit & I'm enjoying the resize window features very handy.  ATM I have only downloaded the 1st download.  Will continue with the others when I've got to grips a bit more with it.

Anyone else think that the 1st 2 downloads cover enough ground for them?

The Al Schmitt expansion seems to have been very well received...only a matter of time before it's added to basket :-)

It kicks SD2 severely into touch.

If you can't get good/incredible drum sounds of any genre with this software, it's truly not the software that's at fault. ;)
This just about sums it up.

The only thing that I would add is that adding the room mics (a further 40GB of samples on top of the 40GB  of basic drum sounds) is well worth it in my experience.  It just knits everything together nicely.

The mixer is now nice enough that I no longer send multi outs to my DAW.  The groove library is huge to the point of being overwhelming (I need to refine my navigation skills).

I've just been transferring a load of old projects onto my new music pc ready to re-visit them in the New Year when I have free time.  A fair few were recorded with Superior Drummer 2.0.  Listening back the difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is amazing.

Just downloaded Decades thanks to Santa. Initial impressions are that it sounds fantastic. Really nice natural sounding kits  with some great presets. Very impressed :-)
