    Do you have a DC resistance meter reading for the pickup?

    GFS have "GFS" logo imprinted on them. I'd think these are just generic Far East make.

    It's not braided output wire, and it's a brass baseplate,  so it's very unlikely to be anything other than generic eastern.

    I'd just stick it in and try it. It's not that hard to do and you get a definitive answer on 'is it any good'

    +1 Just do it. 

    Pickups do not exist in a vacuum. The host instrument contributes to the finished sound. Thus, even a pickup that might be dismissed as cheap crud, installed in a suitable host guitar, is capable of producing desirable sounds.
