FS GSPBasses/Lamf68 Superstrat Build (Price Drop)

Hello Team, me again.

So you know how it is when you have access to the talents of people of the caliber of  @GSPBASSES  or indeed @lamf68 ;; , there's a tendency to get a bit over excited and start speccing stuff and getting it made up because hell, for that quality at that price who wouldn't right ?

Well after the success of my 'Whitey' Strat built using neck & body from Graham painted by Rich which has become my go to guit I decided I wanted a more modern take on a Strat, so off it went and I ended up with this Tangerine Flake beauty'

Graham took a regular Strat silhouette and took about 3mm off the edge all the way around to make for a slightly sharper profile, very reminiscent of the Suhr Standard but crucially takes a standard Strat pickguard.

Nice chunky neck, about 23mm at the nut and a lovely dark Rosewood board with jumbo frets.

Off it went to Rich for a coat of Tangerine metallic nitro on body & headstock nitro finish on the neck.

After he'd worked his magic it came back and the following bits were added

Wilkinson VS100 two post trem with full fat steel block, ideal for wiggly woo gymnastics...
Set of Alexander Pribora "Vodoo Pickups" (so many people make Vodoo Pickups !) from Russia. To be honest I got sucked in by the blurb about him dipping them in wax from his dads bees but they are lovely beefy sounding Strat Pickups.
Mojo Pickups loom with Master Volume, Master Tone, 5 way switch. The volume features a push pull for future mods.
Tuners are a verrrrry swish set of Hipshot Griplok staggered open back jobbies..

I tell you man it's like one of those Subarus with a list of all the upgraded components on the front wing !

So anyway off it went to Strung Out Guitars here in Glasgow for a setup & to have a nut cut.

Came back here, played it a bit managed to get a few dings in the paint (idiot)

And yes, it is a lovely lovely thing plays wonderfully and totally answers the 'modern Strat' brief I had in mbut I just don't need it. I'm not Jeff Beck so I'll never get the most out of a trem like this and so it sits around unused making me feel guilty.

So I thought I'd see if anyone did need it ?

As ever with self builds I shudder to think how much I've got in it, must be getting on for £800 all up but that was my choice and it was a fun process.

I've got a verrrrry Red Thomann gig bag that will come with it and I do have boxes so posting is an option

I do have a padded gig bag and a triangular inner guitar box, and an external double thickness rectangular box I can package it up in if you were interested !

And yes it is lovely, but then with the combined talents of Graham, Rich, & the team at Strung Out it stood a fair chance of being a good one !
